WAFREGA, as a family company for more then 25 years active operating, was taken over by the TYCO group on the 14th of April 2000 . WAFREGA entered into the new TYCO WATERWORKS EUROPE group, which was specialized on pipe systems for gas and water. In this moment TYCO WATERWORKS EUROPE count 23 companies in service for gas and water.

At the end of 2001 TYCO took over the DEUTSCHE ARMATUREN AG, a holding consisting of 53 companies all active for gas and water. Amongst them were well-known companies like ERHARD, FRISCHHUT and SCHMIEDING. Part of this holding was a Dutch company called UNIJOINT, a company that makes steel couplings, flange adapters and dismantling joints. UNIJOINT mainly sells there products to the Middle,

Far East and

Northern Africa .

Meanwhile UNIJOINT, WAFREGA and the products of RMI are bundled into TYCO WATERWORKS BENELUX.
